Christian Action for Empowering Church and Community (CAFECC)

Lydia Awards

“One of those listening was a woman named Lydia, a dealer in purple cloth from the city of Thyatira, who was a worshipper of God. The Lord opened her heart to respond to Paul’s message. When she and the members of her house were baptized, she invited us to her home…She said, ‘Come and stay at my house’” (Acts 16:14-15).

Since the beginning of the church, small businesspeople have played an important role in advancing the Kingdom of God. In the spirit of Lydia, her work as an entrepreneur, her reception of the Gospel, and her service to the Church, PEER Servants grants cash awards of up to $2000 to the best clients of their partners around the world, based on growth of business, successful repayment and use of the loans, overcoming challenges, and transformative impact on their community.

Every year, we present two of our best clients as candidates for the Lydia Awards. CAFECC has had the privilege of presenting several of our clients with varying levels of Lydia Awards, helping them grow their businesses, bless their families, and empowering them to have a greater economic and spiritual impact where they live.
